A calorie counter without an account, for iPhone
If you want a calorie counter for iPhone with no ads and no sign-in, there are a few things worth checking before you install one. Here is how Daylory handles each of them.
What to check before you pick a calorie counter
If you want a calorie counter for iPhone with no ads and no account, check five things before you install one:
- The account. Does it ask you to create a user or sign in to use the diary?
- The ads. Do adverts appear while you log a meal?
- The subscription. What does it cost, what period does it cover and what can you do without paying?
- Export. Can you take your history out in a format you can open outside the app?
- Deletion. Can you remove all of your data when you choose?
How Daylory handles each point
- No account. Daylory has no accounts and no sign-in.
- No ads. The app does not show advertising.
- Daylory Pro subscription. Logging meals requires a monthly or annual subscription. The price and terms are shown before you buy.
- Without a subscription. You can still view your history, export and delete your data.
- Export. The diary exports as CSV or JSON.
Getting started in a few minutes
Install Daylory from the App Store and dictate or type your first meal, for example “two eggs and a slice of toast with butter”. Review the rows, fix anything that does not match and save. There are no sign-up steps first.
What Daylory is not
Daylory is a logging tool. It is not a medical device, it does not give medical or nutritional advice, and its calories and macros are for guidance only. If you need an eating plan, speak to a healthcare professional or a dietitian.
Common mistakes when logging packaged products
- Logging the generic version when you buy a brand. Values can differ between manufacturers, so use the pack in front of you.
- Forgetting the real amount. A nutrition table gives values per 100 g or 100 ml. If you eat 250 g, the amount should reflect it.
- Duplicating the same product under different names. Use the name you recognise when you search, and save it in “My food” to keep it close at hand.
One simple habit helps a lot: when you unpack the weekly shop, scan the products you buy every week first. That way the diary fills with reliable values from day one instead of being rebuilt later.
Before you subscribe
The App Store shows the price, billing period and any trial before you confirm. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the period, from your Apple Account settings. If you cancel, you can still view your history, export it and delete it.
Why exporting matters
A calorie app is a personal record. Being able to export it as CSV or JSON lets you review it in a spreadsheet, share it with a dietitian if you choose, or keep a copy if you change phones.
